Login VSI Extends VDI Portfolio with New Virtual Workspace Management Solutions by Adding Login AM and Citrix Published Apps support

Adds support for Citrix Published Apps and automated deployment and management to enhance user experience

LAS VEGAS – Citrix Synergy 2016 – May 23, 2016 – Login VSI today announced an expansion of its workspace management product portfolio by adding Login AM, automation software for deploying and managing dynamic Windows infrastructures, and by adding support of Citrix published applications. The new Login VSI software suite provides IT managers with greater automation in assessing, configuring and rolling out small to large-scale VDI projects, optimizing infrastructure performance.

“At Login VSI, we’ve always focused on providing the best possible end user experience through constantly improving performance, stability and agility for virtualized desktops,” said Eric-Jan Van Leeuwen, CEO of Login VSI. “By adding Login AM to our software portfolio, we’re bringing critical configuration and change management functionality to our customers while bolstering our testing, monitoring and reporting capabilities. Plus, our support of Citrix Published Apps allows IT admins to avoid costly professional services engagements and provides a streamlined, convenient user experience.”

Login AM

By adding Login AM (formerly known as Automation Machine) to its product portfolio, Login VSI is introducing a new software capability that automates the deployment and management of Windows infrastructures on-premises and in the cloud. IT administrators are confronted with frequent changes to their VDI and Server Based Computing environments and shrinking budgets. With the addition of Login AM, Login VSI now allows IT administrators to fully automate day-to-day deployment and configuration tasks quickly and easily, saving costs through fast installation and lean infrastructure requirements to accelerate time to value. IT organizations can focus on being flexible and quick to respond to change and business demand, while keeping the quality of the services up to the high standards companies have come to rely on.

Support for Citrix Published Applications

Login VSI now supports Citrix Published Applications out-of-the box, with the industry standard Login VSI testing software. In the past this was a custom configuration delivered through professional services and now it is available to all, avoiding time-consuming customization and additional expenses. With this new feature it is now possible to test server-based computing for applications without having to rely on hosted desktops to present the applications to the Login VSI test framework. By offering Citrix Published Applications to its existing support of VMware App Volumes and Microsoft App-V, Login VSI delivers a seamless, convenient user experience within the existing VDI lifecycle with no required workload modification.

Availability

The new Login VSI product suite is available immediately through the company and its network of resellers, systems integrators and service providers. The Login VSI suite consists of:

  • Login AM – automated deployment and management for workspaces
  • Login PI – centralized performance monitoring for VDI and SBC with new multi-domain support
  • Login VSI – testing and validation of VDI and SBC, expressed as the VSImax benchmark for virtual users

Scalability testing Parallels Remote Application Server with Login VSI

Recently I went to VMworld in Barcelona where Login VSI had a booth on the expo... While I can’t remember exactly how many conversations I had - there had been so many that I lost my voice on day one. What was new this year is that quite a few people asked if our software is compatible with the solutions from Parallels specifically their Remote Application Server (RAS) (Datasheet). Windows 10 Default File Type Associations and Login VSI

When Login VSI 4.1 was released, the majority of desktops were running Windows 7 and life was easy. We’d set the default filetype for an application and it would simply work. The default and industry standard workloads in Login VSI include launching and using Adobe Reader as part of the virtual user simulation. Because Login VSI doesn’t always know which version of Adobe Reader is installed, or where it’s installed, the workload relies on the file type association (FTA) for .pdf documents to be… Continue Reading

Investigating Online Application Performance with Login PI

As many companies do, we use a CRM system. Recently, I have been getting complaints about our cloud CRM system, Microsoft Dynamics, being slow. I tried to investigate this by shadowing one of our users to see what was wrong. As expected, everything was fast. 15 minutes later, the same user reported slowness again. How could I investigate this without bothering the users? Continue Reading
