Recorded Webinar: Assuring VDI performance by combining Load Testing and Monitoring

Virtual desktop and VDI initiatives promise a variety of benefits - but the underlying IT architecture adds complexity and risk. Virtual desktop users expect application delivery to be as fast and reliable as their physical desktop experience. A single failure in the service infrastructure can bring virtual desktop performance to a crawl, and significantly impact user productivity and business processes.

Both performance monitoring and performance testing tools address this challenge by helping to create, deliver and maintain the best possible performance for virtual desktop users. However, the approach of the two solutions differ. Where load testing helps to predict and prevent infrastructure performance using simulated user behavior, performance monitoring helps to prevent and, when needed, solve performance problems by diagnosing the behavior of real users and the underlying VDI infrastructure in production environments. A combined approach of using both types of toolsets is the best model for optimal performance assurance.

Watch our recorded webinar with performance management experts Srinivas Ramanathan (CEO, eG Innovations) and Mark Plettenberg (Product Manager, Login VSI) and find out:

  • Why performance management of virtual desktop infrastructures is key
  • How performance testing and monitoring solutions compare
  • How performance monitoring tools complement performance testing tools
  • How to combine monitoring and testing for perfect performance assurance
  • A real world example of how to leverage best of breed solutions for total performance assurance

You can watch the recording of this webinar below. Last week we also published a new white paper about the difference between load testing and monitoring for VDI. Click here to download this white paper for free.

What our customers are saying

Maarten Bruijnesteijn - PPG

"We are using Login VSI for hardware scaling. By testing the number of users that can run on our environment, we know the amount of hardware that we will need upfront. We also use Login VSI in our production acceptance process to test changes to the system to evaluate changes to the environment."

Maarten Bruijnesteijn, System Software Analyst at PPG Industries

Chris Gebhardt - NetApp

“We use Login VSI to make sure that what we are recommending to our customers is much better than what their guesses are. Because if you don't do proper assessment and if you don’t use Login VSI, your architecture is just a guess.”

Chris Gebhardt, Senior Technical Marketing Engineer at NetApp

Dan O'Farrell - Dell

"The primary goal of our VDI appliances is to simplify and to take the guesswork out of VDI, and the Login VSI tests help us to do that from a performance expectation capability. When we offer one of our appliances to our customers, we deliver benchmarks that are validated using multiple Login VSI workloads. When compared to a customer’s workload, these Login VSI-enabled benchmarks allow precise sizing estimations to be created."

Dan O'Farrell, Director, Product Marketing, Cloud & Client at Dell
