We are Ready for VMworld 2015

We are Ready for VMworld 2015

Wow! VMworld is just around the corner and like myself I’m sure you are scrambling to get everything done in time for the event, no matter if you are a vAdmin, cloud architect, IT management or vendor, we are all in the same boat. Each year the pace of business and IT moves much more quickly and I think VMware’s theme “Ready for Any” is quite appropriate. As an example I was asked to write this blog and was given less than a day, so here I sit on my laptop, ready for anything, connected to my VM and writing this blog on a 737 cruising at 30,000 feet.

I don’t know about you, but VMworld is something I very much look forward to given all the new innovations, industry forethought and of course visiting with the friends we’ve made along the way. For me, this is a pinnacle moment after joining Login VSI as the director of products only days ago. I’ve been in the solutions business for almost 20 years and have explored and architected solutions for Enterprise Backup, Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server, VMware server consolidation and now the great world of mobility. I’ve been interested in VDI for quite some time and feel lucky to be a part of the Login VSI team—a product of which I have been an admirer for the last five years due to its unique ability to measure end-user experience (UX).

Something I’ve been quite obsessed with during my years of proving solutions is that there are a ton of tools to stress test, but very few industry standard tests that actually do this in a way that is representative of real-world workloads and even more importantly, provide a threshold for which the testing is deemed responsive enough, and appropriate for production use. These tools are Microsoft Exchange LoadGen, Storage Performance Council workloads and of course Login VSI. SLA proofing tools are critical part of IT operations because they reduce risk and provide assurance that the products being used can meet their solution-level SLAs.

So what excites me about being at VMworld this year? It’s simple… I’m with Login VSI and I get to play with so many of the great storage, software, server and infrastructure vendors at this conference, and I’m doing it all for the benefit of those that need to be “Ready for Any”… our end-users. Look for us as we capture a ton of great video interviews that will be the result in your search for answers about a great UX. Come check out Login VSI and Login PI at Booth #2531 where we will also make sure to contribute to your bag full of geeky toys and be sure to help you understand how we can ensure your end-users have the best experience possible using Login VSI or reduce the risk of sudden changes in experience with Login PI.

See you there!!
