Live from VMworld 2015 - Day 1

Live from VMworld 2015 - Day 1

The Login VSI team has been busy at VMworld attending sessions, talking about our products and giving demos in our booth. I managed to spend some time outside of the booth recording interviews with some smart folks in the industry.

Michael Cooney from EMC

The first interview was with Michael Cooney, and it was special right off the bat – he took me to EMC’s special meeting space on the roof of their expo space. I wanted to interview Michael to find out about the session he delivered at the show, and he caught me up on a wealth of offerings EMC had available.

Kyle Grossmiller from Pure Storage

My next visit was with Kyle Grossmiller, another Solution Architect, this time with Pure Storage. Kyle had some great insights on the state of VDI today, and he made a point that I think was dead on – VDI has matured to the point that there are many alternatives to solving any of the big issues that make VDI a challenge to deploy, so customers have a “burden of choice” available to them now. Pure has some great new hardware that we talked about too.

Seth Knox from Atlantis Computing

I don’t know if this is the year of VDI storage, but it’s definitely the year of Hyper Convergence, and our next stop was with Seth Knox, the VP of Products at Atlantis Computing. Seth told me about the benefits of their new hyper converged offering, as well as how critically important Login VSI has been for them in the path to releasing these new reference architecture designs.

Andrew Mills from Nutanix

It was also great to meet with Andrew Mills, the VDI Alliances Manager for Nutanix. He had some fresh insights on the state of the industry and the trends he sees.

Luke Wignall from NVIDIA

The final interview of the day was with Luke Wignall. NVIDIA always has something cool and flashy to show off, and this interview didn’t disappoint. They’re really delivering a great remote experience, and showed it off at their booth in a really cool way.

There’s more videos to come from the rest of the week, watch this blog, or our YouTube channel to see them all!
