Login AM 2014R2 Now Available

Login AM 2014R2 Now Available

It has been six months since we released Login AM 2014. Today we are proud to announce the availability of Login AM 2014R2. The R2 release broadens support for desktop virtualization platforms and added improvements and features based on customer feedback allowing you to build and maintain windows infrastructures even faster and with an even higher quality.

The 2014R2 release of Login AM is accompanied by the introduction of our template store filled with a number of ready-to-go templates (or blueprints) and an expansion of our documentation section with several howto’s and tips.

Generic features

  • Create a golden master image for each computer collection automatically
  • Windows event log support for errors and status updates allows third party monitoring tool to monitor AM progress
  • Automatic installation of windows updates during maintenance cycle

Platform support

  • Support for generic (non RDS2012) servers
  • Support for XenApp 6.5 farms
  • Added support for Windows Server 2008R2, Windows 7 and Windows 8
  • Automatic XenApp 6.5 published application creation

Easier to share templates

  • Description field for custom variables allow for sharing without writing additional documentation
  • Packages that have the remote app option enabled will automatically create a published application when deployed on a XenApp 6.5 farm
  • Added option to categorize custom package settings
  • In addition to the ability to import and export single packages it is now also possible to import and export complete layers and collections with all their settings and dependencies
  • Actionitems can now have a descriptive name

Ease of use

  • A variable browser helps finding the right variables. You don’t need to remember all the variables you created anymore
  • Further eliminate the need for scripting though new action items
    • Added Create ODBC DSN action item
    • Added Install MSU action item
    • Added Install MSI (table) action item (where properties can be entered in a table, instead of single line string)
  • Added media library
  • Automatically extract zip files and ISO files when importing them into media library
  • Setting now have tooltips reducing the need for reading our documentation
  • Added dashboard actions to: o Initiate background configuration on target machines remotely
    • Open remote PowerShell Session to target computer 
    • Force a maintenance cycle on-demand 
    • Remotely inspect and reset list of tasks executed on a target computer 
    • Remotely reboot computer from dashboard 
    • Remotely initialize AM on an new computer from dashboard 
    • Test remote connection to target computer
