One of our customers wanted to migrate from a classic desktop environment to a server based computing environment to allow them to centrally manage their applications. In their old environment they had no form of automated deployment in place to manage their 2500 desktops and 200+ applications. This resulted in a massive workload when one of their core applications needed an update. Because they were using Citrix only for a limited amount of (home) users, a big investment was needed. Therefor they asked us to come up with another solution which still met their requirements.

Turn Screensaver on and off Between Thin and Fat Clients with Login AM Filters

A customer of us is providing published Desktops for their end users on Citrix XenApp. Most of the users are provided with Thin Clients but some still require a Fat Client for traveling. A mandatory company rule dictates the use of a screensaver with password lock enabled. Due to that rule a general screensaver has been provided to fat clients and remote desktop servers. The thin clients used are only providing published desktops and are not able to have a screensaver with user authentication enabled.

You are probably aware that Login AM will create an entry in the tracking.cache after the application installation is finished. Even when the installation failes this entry is created. To install the application again by Login AM you will have to remove the application entry from the tracking.cache and reboot to start the install phase again. By deleting the entry, Login AM will think the application is new because it is not in the tracking.cache.
