dibbens created the topic: File Exists Login_VSI1.pdf
Hi I am receiveing the following error on the second loop of my tests.

The PDF file already exists. H:\Output_Login_VSI1.pdf
I assume that this is because the file was created on the first loop. How can I remove the file for subsequent loops?

Thanks Peter

Peter,

What version of Adobe Reader are you using? I am assuming version 10.

Adobe Reader 10 has a different window title than Adobe Reader 9 (Acrobat Reader). VSI assumes you use the version supplied with VSI.

You have several options to resolve and/or work around this.
1. Change the Window title to Adobe in the VSI Management console, see attachment. Please note that this requires a PRO license.
2. Remove Adobe Reader 10 and use supplied version of Adobe (Acrobat) Reader. You can do this by either running the VSI target setup again or by manually installing Adobe Reader 9. If you choose to install it manually please remember to use the supplied MST file. This will make sure dialogs like Adobe Product Improvement Program (APIP) do not happen.
3. Use the BETA version of the VSI management console . This version allows you to change the Adobe Window title with an Express license, see attachment.

Thanks
This fixed the issue. Only when the host is very busy do I see the issue occur now.

What our customers are saying

Sajad Shah - Cancer Research

"Login VSI has empowered us to make more informed decisions on releasing a new vDisk which we now do on a monthly basis. We have found that Login VSI tests can also flag other issues in our environment that may not be picked up by our standard User Testing which allows us to either make the appropriate changes to the vDisk or workload script adjustments to run successful tests. This has given us peace of mind and allows us to release VDI’s with confidence."

Sajad Shah, Senior Technical Analyst at Cancer Research UK

Shaun Donaldson - Bitdefender

"As a software vendor, the reason that we became a Login VSI customer is that we wanted to see how we compared to our competitors. After talking to VMware and Citrix about how they test their products, it became clear to me that we needed to follow our strategic partners and be able to show how our product compares favorably to our competitors. We just completed a round of tests using Login VSI and you will see white papers showing performance data."

Shaun Donaldson, Alliances Director at Bitdefender

Maarten Bruijnesteijn - PPG

"We are using Login VSI for hardware scaling. By testing the number of users that can run on our environment, we know the amount of hardware that we will need upfront. We also use Login VSI in our production acceptance process to test changes to the system to evaluate changes to the environment."
