alexis@bl created the topic: launching custom script
Hi,
I created a AutoIT script and declared it on the Workload Customization tab, but the script is not launched.

How do I link a custom script to my test?

Greetings,
Alexis

Alexis,

A few questions.
1. Is the file accessible for the target machines? I assume it is as it seems like you places the script in the VSI share.
2. Can the target environment interpret the AutoIT script? If you want to run a AutoIT script directly your target environment will need to have the AutoIT runtime installed. Alternatively you can compile the script to an executable.

I compiled the autoit script to exe.
The script is stored on the VSI shared.
But still nothing happens.
Does it depend on the selected item in the right upper corner?
I selected "Global Settings".

Alexis,

Can you send us the debug logs?
You can send the logs to this email address. However, if you do not have a debug log on your target machines it is likely that VSI never started.
I can also schedule a GoToMeeting to resolve this. It might be faster than emailing back and forth.

Regards,

Omar

What our customers are saying

Rob Girard - Tintri

"You would be somewhat nuts to go to production with VDI without first and constantly re-evaluating with Login VSI. Always run all your changes through it so there are no surprises. Surprises in VDI never just hit one or two users--it's all or nothing.”

Rob Girard, Technical Marketing Engineer at Tintri

Tristan Todd - VMware

“Login VSI is my favorite test orchestration and simulation tool for large-scale reference architecture testing. Not only do we use it in our testing, but we work with partners who use Login VSI exclusively, with the idea that you create the most realistic simulated workload at scale, to really test infrastructure and software capabilities. What’s more, getting the results and be able to measure yourself across platforms and across vendor solutions is just fantastic and is unequalled in the industry.”

Tristan Todd, EUC Architect at VMware

Bill Galloway - Pivot3

“The labs at Pivot3 have hundreds of machines. A portion of those are running different Login VSI configurations so we can be constantly configuring with different hardware to see how that affects desktops. Then we tweak the RAM and CPU, and tune so we know how many users we can support.”

Bill Galloway, Founder and CTO at Pivot3
