Nimni created the topic: Monitoring CPU and Memory
Hi Everyone,
I am part of performance team. we are considering purchasing 'Login VSI'.
Our plan is to open up to 100 VDI sessions. Each user will operate several actions by scripts (not part of the default app list)
Does 'Login VSI' monitor each session CPU/Memory and any other metric?
can i measure response time of each user's action?

Thanks in advanced,
Dan.

Nim,

Each user's operation with or by several actions via our scripts (not part of the default app list) can and will be measured. This is what we call "(Login) VSImax". We determine the best and optimal UX until (server/host) saturation, better known as 'threshold', is reached. For more information check this video:

And our documentation: www.loginvsi.com/documentation/Analyzing_Results

We do measure, and thus 'monitor', each session's CPU/Memory/IOPs and typically any other metric that is related to UX in the user-session (keeping in mind, these metrics are bound to the underlying Hypervisor's computing and/or utilizations). We can also measure response time of each user's action App Start Times (Start/Close Custom Application Times).

Please feel free to contact us for a quick deep-dive session for specific scenario's like the one you describe and require via support[at]loginvsi[.]com

What our customers are saying

Shai Maskit - Kaminario

“We tested 750 seats so customers can compare Kaminario with solutions from other vendors. It really comes down to delivering the best user experience at the right price point. As soon as we show the solution and that it has been validated by Login VSI customers can rest assured that it will fit the rest of their environment.”

Shai Maskit, Director of Product & Solutions at Kaminario

Maarten Bruijnesteijn - PPG

"We are using Login VSI for hardware scaling. By testing the number of users that can run on our environment, we know the amount of hardware that we will need upfront. We also use Login VSI in our production acceptance process to test changes to the system to evaluate changes to the environment."

Maarten Bruijnesteijn, System Software Analyst at PPG Industries

Bill Galloway - Pivot3

“The labs at Pivot3 have hundreds of machines. A portion of those are running different Login VSI configurations so we can be constantly configuring with different hardware to see how that affects desktops. Then we tweak the RAM and CPU, and tune so we know how many users we can support.”
