Test stuck at 93% on segment prepare

Hi,

I am running a 1500 user test and the test kicks off fine but at times am seeing the VMs when they kick off LoginVSI workload, they reach 93% in segment prepare and do not make a progress after that. I also see screenshots of error where it says it has trouble starting applications like Outlook. I have logs from the test if required.

This is a Xendesktop 7.6 environment using PVS VMs. The test VMs are Windows 8.1 and Office version is Office 2013. LoginVSI version being used is 4.1.3.

Hello bd84,

Was their any previous Office version installed?

You can try uninstalling the previous version or run Microsofts tool to remove old traces:

No. I had installed a version of Office 2013 which had activation issues so re-installed the volume licensing version. Also, I have had to re-arm the licensing activation once so that it does not prompt me that I need to activate the license soon.

This does not happen all the time. I have had tests which have kicked off fine too. Should I go back and uninstall and reinstall Office 2013 again?

Sure. Will do so. I am also having issues with tests where workload gets kicked off fine but am having a lot of stuck sessions. I believe I know the cause of that but want to get your thoughts on that. Will send the log files for that too.
