Insectiside created the topic: Workload halt halfway, stuck on Office
Hello guys,

I'm experimenting with load testing, and i've succeeded to setup the whole thing on my environment. I've rand the setup PS1 script in my AD, put in machines and the GPO's, created 50 users with the default password.

I've installed a Window Server 2012 RDS (Terminal Server, not VDI), with Office 2013 Dutch version Professional (completely installed), and i also ran the Target setup as instructed.

I have the Express Version operational of VSI. I'm encountering two issues:

1. No auto-logon occurs. When i start a test and watch my session host server, i'm noticing this:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/61474096@N05/9116045290/

If i type in the default pass: Password! the logon works perfectly, and the session tests within that session starts

2. Somewhere halfway through the testing, the following Office 15 error pops up:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/61474096@N05/9115685093/

Strangely enough, the tests are busy quite a while i'm noticing. So PDF's are being generated, Websites are being shown, Word is active with text in it, etc... and then the above error. And yes, i've configured the correct Office-version.

Any suggestions guys?

With regards!

Guys,

Auto-logon works! The problem was the domain was not typed in in the connection properties in the VSI Management Console.

The error "Office15 not found after waiting...." still remains. All sessions get stuck there.

With kind regards,

Sven

Hi Insect,

"Office15 not found after waiting...." should work. I know that you are using Office14 a.t.m., but a few questions for all of us;

When you selected Office15 I assume you also selected the proper language setting? (for example was Office15 in Dutch or was the 2012 RDS host in Dutch?) and did you select the NL language setting?

Hoping to hear from you soon. I can wait until you are done with Office14 (gathering results) and we can proceed and get you up/running with Office15.

Thanks,

Omar

Hello all,

Sorry for Hijacking the topic.
But I'm having the same problem: Office 15 not found.
I'm using a Dutch RDS 2012 server with a dutch Office 2013 and I chose "NL" as the Workload language.

Was this problem resolved for you?
Some any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

All,

Is this on a TRIAL version of Office where you see this specific behaviour?

Hello Stephen,

Thanks for your reaction.
The session is opening Word and displaying tekst, so I don't think this is the problem.
But I would like to try it.
But what do you mean by: "disable the start windows"?

Thanks in advance,

Jacco

Hi, Jacco

The office program showed this start screen after executing the Individual office program.
www.flickr.com/photos/14686992@N08/10065910234/in/photostream/

The Login VSI cannot judge this condition, and then it will pop up the error message.
I found that I disable the start screen of individual office program, the issue is solved.

You can try this methodology to disable Start Screen for Individual Office 2013 Programs
1. Launch PowerPoint 2013 on your computer and choose any of the templates from the Start screen to open the editor window.
2. Click on the File button and then on Option button to open PowerPoint Options
3. Under the general options you will have to uncheck the option Show the Start screen when the application starts. Finally save the settings to make the changes permanent.

Stephen, thanks again for replying.

Thats doesn't work for me, unfortunately.
I allready disabled these Start screens by policy.
So that doesn't seem to be the problem in my case.
Thanks anyway.

I am having the same "Stuck" problem. Office 2013, stops on the second pass, 33% done (loop 1, segment 2) with a pop up window trying to print a *.xps file. The client is Windows 7 the server is 2008r2. It appears that the server is sending something over the network but no progress on the test execution and eventually the network traffic stops.

Thanks

All,

Hereby as promised the 'hotfix'.

Notes:

- This has not been extensively tested

- This is a hotfix: upgrading to a newer version will overwrite this hotfix and the hotfix will not work
-- This hotfix version is: VSI4.0.8

- This will only work if both OS and Office is the same Language configuration

- This will work for Office 2003/2007/2010/2013

- Backup the current VSI.exe [\\<host>\<vsishare>\_VSI_Binaries\Target\VSI.exe]

Download links for the VSI.exe hotfix

- Dutch0.8: download here

- French0.8: download here

- German0.8: download here

- Japan0.8: download here

- Russian0.8: download here

-- Russian LanguageFile (including the other Languages supported by Login VSI) download here

Configuration

1- Unpack the hotfix and place it in: [\\<host>\<vsishare>\_VSI_Binaries\Target\]

2- Open the Login VSI Management Console and browse to: Workloads > settings
-- Configure the correct Office version

3- Note: Office 2010 and 2013 have different print sequences if the setup is not English
-- Meaning, If I have both my OS/Office 2012/2013 version configured in Dutch I need to configure the following print sequence: bkk
--- Please refer to the attached screenshot

4- Print sequences

Dutch printkey == bkk
French printkey == fmm
German printkey == duu
Japan printkey == fpp
Russian printkey == afx
