After Meltdown, Spectre and Foreshadow (L1TF), security researchers have uncovered the next major CPU exploit, mainly referred to as ZombieLoad – or Microarchitectural Data Sampling (MDS). This security flaw hits Intel processors since 2011 and like the vulnerabilities prior, it’s not only PCs and laptops that are affected. The cloud is also vulnerable as MDS can be triggered in virtual machines.

According to Intel, data centres are likely to be worst affected by the required fixes. As VDI workloads are very CPU intensive, your performance and scalability are likely at risk. The newer Intel processors already contain a fix, but previous generations will surely need to be patched. Vendors and early benchmarks already show that these mitigations have a negative impact on performance, in some cases even up to 40% loss.

Join us for our webinar on the recent Intel MDS vulnerabilities and find out what effect the mitigations will have on your virtual desktops and applications. We’ll be discussing the latest news and test results on the performance and scalability impact in VDI and SBC environments.

Some key takeaways of this webinar:

    • MDS/RIDL/Fallout/ZombieLoad latest news
    • How to check if your system is patched
    • Performance test results on Windows 10 VDI/SBC
    • Why testing patches (and other changes in your environment) is vital

    Target Audience:

    • All IT staff responsible for Windows desktop and application performance
    • IT service managers managing environments that include VDI/SBC/DaaS
