What to expect from VMworld Barcelona 2016?
VMware’s annual show VMworld was a great success recently in Las Vegas. If you did not have the opportunity to meet us there but you are heading out to VMworld Barcelona in next week, I have a few personal recommendations for you. Saving you some time wading through the session catalog. You should attend these sessions if you want to have a real VMworld party. Some of these sessions are filled almost to capacity, so make sure to claim your seat.

02:00PM – 03:00PM: Industry Perspective: Enterprise Reality of Doing DevOps
Nowadays more and more pressure is being put on application development and IT organizations to step up and deliver. Contradicting however is that this has to happen cheaper and faster. Ed Hoppit and Robbie Jerrom will outline how successful enterprise organizations are those that are evolving the capabilities of their platforms to deliver for the needs of the developer, embracing technical and organizational change and leveraging a structured roadmap to de-risk and accelerate change, but without building tomorrow’s technical debt today. (DEVOP7788)
Thursday October 20
09:00 – 10:00AM: Case Study: Large-Scale Deployment of VMware App Volumes and User Environment Manager for 10,000 Seats
It starts a bit early on the last day but if you did not drink too many Zombies last night this is a must see talk by Gaurav Baghla and Lakshmana Prakash sharing details on a success story by one of their enterprise clients for 10.000 VMware horizon desktops. What challenges, advantages and limitations did these guys run into? By the way this does include UEM and App Volumes. (EUC8822)
12:00PM – 01:00PM: How to Manage Personal Settings with App Volumes & ThinApp
This session is about cake, according to the outline a piece of cake. That’s what application delivery is when using Thinapp and App Volumes, but there are still some issues that remain especially around application settings for the users. In this session Pim van de Vis and Raymond Wieseman will teach you how personal settings are stored with ThinApp and App Volumes and what you can do to manage those settings. (EUC7611)
All day – everyday
But of course the place to be at the VMworld solutions exchange is booth S121 where the Login VSI crew will be happy to help you with all your questions on VDI, DevOps, Performance, Automation, RDSH, virtual users, and much more. Hopefully we will have the pleasure to meet each other there. Enjoy VMworld!
