Hydra 2.0: Windows 365 Support Is Here — and It’s Free (for Now)

November 24, 2025

We’re excited to announce Hydra 2.0, our biggest update yet — and the first version to include support for Microsoft Windows 365.

That’s right: Hydra isn’t just for Azure Virtual Desktop anymore. You can now see, manage, and experiment with your Windows 365 Cloud PCs — all from the same clean interface you already use for AVD. This addition comes with several updates on the Azure Virtual Desktop management side, but a huge part of this is to get your feedback on WHAT you want from the Windows 365 integration.

And yes, we’re giving the Windows 365 integration away for free. Here’s why.

Why We’re Giving Windows 365 Support Away

Let’s be honest: Any version 1 release always gets a suspicious look from us, folks in IT. And we know that Hydra 2.0’s Windows 365 features are early-stage — useful, but not yet the full Hydra experience that you know from AVD.

Rather than hold it back, we decided to release it now, get it in your hands, and invite you to help shape what comes next.

It’s our way of saying: “Let’s build this together.”

So, while Windows 365 support is free for now, your feedback is the real price of admission. Tell us what features will make Hydra truly indispensable for your Cloud PC environments — and we’ll prioritize them.

What’s New in Hydra 2.0

Hydra 2.0 adds several key capabilities for admins managing Windows 365 and AVD side by side:

  • Windows 365 Dashboard — View all Cloud PCs in your managed tenant, grouped by provisioning policy.
  • Basic Cloud PC Controls — Sync with Intune, restart, create restore points, reprovision, or install the updated Hydra Agent.
  • AVD to Windows 365 Migration Snapshots — Build migration-ready snapshots to simplify testing and transition planning.
  • Improved Sorting and Filtering — Manage large environments more easily with better column controls and tenant filters.
  • Updated Hydra Agent — Now supports Cloud PCs for extended data collection and future automation capabilities.

Migration Made Easy (and Free to Explore)

With Microsoft’s new AVD-to-Windows 365 migration API, organizations finally have an official, supported path to move users and personal host virtual machines to Windows 365.

Hydra 2.0 builds on that foundation with our new AVD migration snapshot capability — allowing admins to capture and prepare virtual machines for migration testing before committing to production moves.

This includes the preinstallation of the powerful Hydra Agent, ensuring ongoing control and support capabilities once systems are running on Windows 365.

What’s Coming Next

This is just the starting point. Our roadmap includes deeper automation, delegated helpdesk tools, cross-platform cost optimization, and tighter integration with Microsoft Intune and Entra.

Basically, we’re building toward a single pane of glass for AVD and Windows 365 — making Cloud PC management simpler, smarter, and more automated.

Try It. Break It. Tell Us What You Think. Tell Us What You WANT.

Hydra 2.0 is available now in the Azure Marketplace.

Go ahead — test it, push it, and send us your feedback. The more we hear from real users, the faster we can build the features that matter most to you.
