Workspace Weekly: Get a Sneak Peek of Platform Metrics for Nutanix

January 28, 2026

Last week, we shared how Platform Metrics lets you correlate infrastructure with Login Enterprise test results. Today, we’re excited to show you what that looks like in practice with a preview integration for Nutanix.

Continuing our Platform Metrics series, this is a good example of how external infrastructure data can land directly in Login Enterprise for side-by-side analysis with your test metrics.

What is it?

I created a PowerShell-based collector that pulls cluster-level metrics from Nutanix Prism Element and uploads them to Login Enterprise Platform Metrics. It runs any Windows machine with PowerShell 5.1 or higher, requires no admin privileges, and automatically handles time synchronization, retry logic, and multi-environment support.

The metrics currently collected include:

  • Cluster CPU usage (%)
  • Cluster memory usage (%)
  • Storage IOPS (total, read, write)
  • Storage latency (average, read, write) in milliseconds
  • IO bandwidth (total, read, write) in kBps

These metrics show up in Login Enterprise alongside your test results. When EUX scores drop or sessions slow down, you can immediately check whether Nutanix cluster resources were under load at that exact moment.

How it works

The collector script polls Nutanix Prism Element every 30 seconds via the Prism REST API, converts the metrics into Platform Metrics format, and uploads them to Login Enterprise.

Currently, the script splits metrics by unit type (percent, IOPS, milliseconds, kBps) into separate environments for clean visualization.

You configure it once via a JSON file or command-line parameters, run the script, and metrics to start flowing into Login Enterprise. A retrieval script is also included if you want to export the data to CSV or JSON for external analysis.

Figure 1: Nutanix cluster CPU and memory usage displayed in Login Enterprise Platform Metrics during a test run.

Imagine if you are…

Running a Load Test on a Nutanix cluster and noticing VSImax is lower than expected.

You check Platform Metrics and see cluster CPU was hovering at 85% during the ramp phase. Now you know the bottleneck wasn’t the application or network; it was cluster resource contention.

You report it, infrastructure tunes CPU allocation, and the next test hits the target.

Or let’s say you’re validating a new Nutanix deployment before migration. You run continuous tests over 24 hours while the collector sends cluster metrics to Platform Metrics.

The storage latency spikes you see also correlate with session slowdowns at 3 AM. You identify a storage rebalance job running during that window, reschedule it, and prove the environment is stable.

This is a preview

This integration is available now on GitHub as proof of concept: LoginVSI/nutanix-platform-metrics. It’s not officially supported yet; however, it’s functional and ready to test if you want to see Platform Metrics in action with Nutanix.

We’re actively improving it based on customer feedback. The current version focuses on cluster-level metrics via Prism Element, but we’re already iterating to add host and VM-level granularity using Prism Central v4 APIs next, so stay tuned!

What’s next

If you run Login Enterprise on Nutanix and want to try this integration, grab the scripts from GitHub and follow the setup instructions in the README. The repository includes everything you need: collector script, retrieval script, configuration examples, and documentation.

We’d love to hear what works, what doesn’t, and what metrics you’d want to see next. This is an early preview, and your feedback will shape how it evolves and whether it becomes an officially supported feature in a future Login Enterprise release. As always, thank you for your feedback! We use your insights to make Login Enterprise better for you.
