Workspace Weekly: Login Enterprise v6 Launcher in the IGEL App Portal

September 9, 2025

Good news for IGEL shops! The Login Enterprise Launcher for version 6 is now easy to pull directly into IGEL UMS 12 from the IGEL App Portal, so you can import, assign, and keep Launchers current across your deployment with a few clicks.

Stay current, keep tests running. Pull the 6.x Launcher from the App Portal so your IGEL OS endpoints stay in lockstep with your Login Enterprise 6 Virtual Appliance. When the Launcher and VA are aligned on 6.x, your scheduled tests continue to run across your IGEL footprint without interruption.

Keep versions aligned to keep tests running

Pulling Login Enterprise Launcher v6 from the IGEL App Portal lets your IGEL OS endpoints stay aligned with your Login Enterprise 6 Virtual Appliance through UMS.

If the Virtual Appliance is one major version ahead, endpoints will still connect, but the Launcher will not start Target sessions (e.g., Launcher 5.9.99 with Login Enterprise 6.0.0). Import Launcher 6 and set an update policy in UMS, so scheduled tests continue without surprises.

Why Login Enterprise Launchers in IGEL OS matters

  • Faster deployment. Stand up performance-testing endpoints on existing IGEL OS devices in minutes, saving admin time.
  • Lower cost. Use IGEL OS devices instead of dedicated Windows hosts where it fits your strategy.
  • Scale at the edge. Add Launchers at branch and remote sites quickly for real user-path visibility.
  • Better hardware ROI. Repurpose under-used IGEL devices and prove value with measurable EUX data.

Common use cases

  • Branch office validation. Capture true latency and app responsiveness from the edge.
  • Continuous monitoring. Schedule tests to detect degradation before users do.
  • Pre-deployment checks. Validate images, drivers, and policies under load across locations.
  • Load testing. Simulate larger user counts without adding server hardware.

Getting started

  1. Visit the IGEL App Portal at https://app.igel.com/
  1. Import the app into UMS Web and assign it to your IGEL OS devices.
  1. Configure your Launcher settings and begin running Login Enterprise tests.

For step-by-step guidance, see our KB: Deploying the Launcher through the IGEL App Portal

Tip: You can also install locally from the App Portal app on a device, but UMS import is recommended for centralized control and updates.

Import the Login Enterprise 6 Launcher into UMS, assign it to your devices, and start validating EUX across your IGEL footprint today. Share results and feedback in our #workspace-weekly Slack so we can highlight your wins in a future Workspace Weekly.
