What’s New in Login Enterprise 6.0?

April 17, 2025

You asked for it, and here it is… Login Enterprise 6.0! It extends the usability of the platform toward self-service testing.

Login Enterprise 6.0 delivers Role-Based Access Control, a new report for Application Test comparison, a slew of UI enhancements, half a dozen bug fixes, and a new API — all on a cleaner, lighter stack. For years, our customers have been trying to open up this incredible testing platform to more teams and application owners and share in the love… with Login Enterprise 6.0, customers can finally realize that dream. Automated Application Validation and Performance Testing for everyone — whether you’re using VDI on-premises with Citrix, Omnissa, or Azure, Local to Cloud-Based Citrix, AVD and Windows 365, all the way to Windows laptops and desktops where no VDI is present. Come one, come all.

First Things First: Update Those Launchers.

Here’s a quick PSA before you get too excited: if you’re moving to version 6.0, your Launchers must be updated. No shortcuts here — older Launchers won’t play nice with the new setup. Think of it like trying to stream Netflix on a flip phone — it’s just not gonna happen. In the past, running a Launcher version behind was OK, but Login Enterprise 6.0 is not compatible with 5.x Launchers. Once your upgrade is complete, you’ll need 6.0 Launchers to run your tests (except for tests with a Desktop connector — they’re launcher-less!).

It’s also important to pay attention to our support matrix:

  • Still running Login Enterprise 5.8 or earlier? You’ll need to upgrade to 5.14 first — and don’t skip the “Perform System Upgrade” option.
  • Running 5.9 to 5.14 on Debian 10? Same deal. Move to 5.14 with the system upgrade selected. Trust us, it’s worth the effort.
  • Have no idea what either of those mean? Support is here for you and ready to help with your updates. Submit a request — they’re happy to help, and they’re awesome.

Features

Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)

This one’s a big deal. RBAC provides fine-grained access management for Login Enterprise, enabling administrators to define and manage custom roles with specific permissions. This functionality allows users to have isolated access to test configurations, ensuring they can interact only with their designated tests. RBAC lets you customize user roles and control exactly what each person can access. It’s a cleaner, safer way to organize your tests.

Side-by-Side Application Test Comparisons

Ever wish you could line up multiple Application Test results and compare them in a clean, easy-to-read format? Now you can — just download a report and get all the details side-by-side (up to 5 tests at a time). Side-by-side comparison lets you easily check for deviations in application validation over a span of time. Use it to compare the last 5 tests (releases) and look for performance leaks. Maybe you want to compare differences between 5 potential configuration options for those Data Leak Prevention Policies or some other security agent(s) (yeah, like the “s” is optional… seems like there’s always more than one security agent these days!). These are just some of the possibilities with this new feature. Application Test reporting is finally catching up to its big brother, Load Testing.

Enhancements

Along with the big features and major reworking, here are some smaller enhancements designed to save you time and make navigating the UI a bit more pleasant:

  • Test settings now live across multiple tabs — less clutter, more clarity. Instead of a doom scroll, we keep it separated in the view pane.
  • Edit multiple fields in a test all at once — no more endless save clicks.
  • Full-page editing for apps and groups — goodbye tiny pop-ups.
  • Load Test comparisons now include percentage differences right at the top.
  • User experience polish — better icons, easier table resizing, more control over what data you see.
  • Application Test Result pages now let you show/hide columns and include two new ones: Connector and Test Duration.

API Updates You Should Know About

  • Public API v7 is here — no longer in preview and it’s the recommended version for Login Enterprise 6.0.
  • API v8-preview is also included, introducing a new ‘Environment’ attribute (still a work-in-progress).

Bug Fixes

Just a few of the annoyances we’ve squashed:

  • Application script downloads won’t get stuck with “_Default_Script” in the name.
  • Load Test result headers stay visible when scrolling.
  • Password changes now require confirmation.
  • Broken links in Application Test PDFs? Fixed.
  • The “Download PDF” button no longer shows up for failed tests.
  • The company logo now appears properly in reports.

Nerdy Technical Notes (Because Someone Out There Cares)

We’ve merged the Environment microservice into the core Login Enterprise microservice for smoother operations. Older Public API versions (v4, v5, v6) have been officially retired. And while we haven’t given it exhaustive attention, the new v8-preview API appears to be 5x faster. Olé!

Final Take

Login Enterprise 6.0 doesn’t just look cleaner — it feels better. Whether you’re managing tests, fine-tuning access, or just trying to get through your day with fewer headaches, this release has something that’ll make you nod in appreciation. One small step for Login VSI, one giant leap for self-service automated validation and performance testing!

Ready to upgrade? Let’s GO! Just don’t forget those Launchers.
