Nutanix and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops: Windows Desktops on vSphere
July 21, 2023
In this reference architecture, Nutanix makes recommendations for designing, optimizing, and scaling Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops deployments on Windows desktops on VMware vSphere with Citrix Machine Creation Services (MCS) and Citrix Provisioning (previously called Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS).
On Nutanix, available host CPU resources drive Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops user density, rather than any I/O or resource bottlenecks for virtual desktops. Login Enterprise test results showed densities at 125 sessions per Nutanix node for virtual desktops running the Login Enterprise knowledge worker workload with an EUX score above 7.5.
