Nutanix and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops: Windows Server on Nutanix Cloud Clusters on AWS
December 20, 2023
In this reference architecture, Nutanix makes recommendations for designing, optimizing, and scaling Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops deployments on Windows virtual machines (VMs) on Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS) with Citrix Machine Creation Services (MCS) and Citrix Provisioning.
On Nutanix, available host CPU resources drive Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops user density, rather than any I/O or resource bottlenecks for virtual desktops. Login Enterprise test results showed densities at 200 sessions per Nutanix node for virtual servers running the Login Enterprise knowledge worker workload with EUX scores above 8.0. Nutanix offers a pay-as-you-grow model that works like public cloud.
