Nutanix End-User Computing Performance Impact Analysis

November 10, 2023

This analysis describes the impact that changes in an end-user computing environment, like changing from Windows 10 to Windows 11 or upgrading an Office version, might have on the performance and user density of an EUC environment.

Nutanix also provides insights on the performance impacts of changing vCPU configurations per virtual machine (VM) using benchmark data generated from Login Enterprise.

When using the Login Enterprise benchmark, Nutanix did not see a significant increase in overall CPU usage when increasing the vCPU count per virtual desktop. Increasing the vCPU count can have a bigger impact on the user density than the results indicated. However, if you use multithread-aware applications in your virtual desktops, Nutanix recommends increasing the vCPU per desktop. These applications can use multiple CPU cores at once.
